After the 94th Academy Awards events, Netflix slowed the developing movie Fast and Loose starring Will Smith. Due to the slap incident at the Oscars’ night, where Will Smith smacked Chris Rocks for making a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, Will’s wife, Netflix decided to take this step. Will Smith got tempered over Chris’s joke on Jada making fun of her baldness which is due to alopecia. Relating to this, Smith released a long apology over social media for his actions and also announced his resignation from The Academy. Ever since Smith came to spotlight even more, due to the controversy his upcoming projects are definitely facing some issues.

According to reports, Will Smith‘s upcoming movie ‘Fast and Loose’ is put on hold by Netflix. The film’s recent director change took place just before the Oscars. David Leitch got pulled away from the project to work on Ryan Gosling’s Fall Guy. Will’s other upcoming projects include Emancipation, an Apple TV+ drama, which is yet to schedule it’s premiere. Will Smith has also been in talks for Bad Boys 4 , Sony also seems to have put a pause on the project due to the Oscars incident. We still don’t know if Netflix will continue to work on Fast and Loose’s development or if they plan to cast in a new actor.

While penning down a lengthy paragraph about how he’s actions at the Oscars’ night was inexcusable, he wrote “I want to put the focus back on those who deserve attention for their achievements and allow the Academy to get back to the incredible work it does to support creativity and artistry in film.”

Chris Rock, in a recent stand up show in Boston addressed this situation in front of audience. The Boston audience did chanted, “Sue him Chris“, but Chris’s made his decision of not pressing charges against Will before the Boston’s show.
