‘Shining girl Trailer’: A time-travelling thriller drama by ‘Michelle MacLaren’

Shining Girls, an upcoming thriller drama series is all set to release on April 29, 2022, on Apple TV+. The first two episodes will be released on April 29 and the remaining five episodes will air weekly on Fridays after that. Based on the best selling novel The Shining Girls by South African author Lauren Beukes, the series follows the story of Harper Curtis who discovers a key to a house that opens onto other times. But it comes with a price. He has to kill The Shining girls: young women who were brutally attacked to death. He chased them through their lives across different times until, in 1989, one of his victims, Kirby Mizrachi (Elizabeth Moss), survives and starts hunting him down. Kirby Mizrachi, a newspaper archivist learns that a recent murder is somehow linked to her assault. As soon as she learned this, she partners with Dan Velazquez (Wagner Moura), a Veteran reporter and determined to find the identity of his attacker. The story is set in Chicago.

Recently Apple TV+ has released the trailer of the series which portrays Kirby who is immersed in the memories of her assault. She was disturbed and finds herself struggling which leaves her in a constantly shifting reality. The trailer revealed that the events of Kirby’s assault continue to terrify her and that it can never leave her alone.

Aside from Elizabeth Moss and Wagner Moura, the series also stars Phillipa Soo as Jin-Sook, Amy Brenneman as Rachel and Jamie Bell as Harper Curtis.The show is directed by Michelle MacLaren and written by Silka Luisa. Executive producer of the series includes Elisabeth Moss, Silka Luisa, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lindsey McManus, Jennifer Davisson, Lauren Beukes, Alan Page Arriaga, Rebecca Hobbs and Daina Reid.
