Ariana Grande is helping raise awareness as well as donations for the transgender community, the “34+35” singer is reaching out to trans youth in light of a series of bills and legislation which are curbing the rights and liberties of transgenders, hence denying them human rights and secluding them in the society. Ariana Grande’s fans have been commending her for voicing support for trans community in such a tough time.
Via an Instagram post, Ariana announced that she is fundraising alongwith Pledge to give support to the organizations and groups that are working for the welfare of the community, the artist who is a Grammy-winner noted that she will also individually donate a sum of 1.5 million dollars in addition to the fundraising amount and Pledge is trying to raise an amount of three million dollars. In a post, Ariana expressed, “Please join me in donating to this fund I’ve created with @pledge.to to support organisations providing direct services and advocating for the rights of trans youth!”
She continued her caption, writing, “Right now there are hundreds of disgraceful bills pending in state legislature that target trans youth and aim to curb their rights. This will provide critical funds to organizations advocating for the rights of trans youth.”
Currently in America, Arizona’s governor Doug Ducey signed a pair of bills into law which banned trans girls and woman from competing in women’s sports and limiting access to gender-affirming care and Oklahoma’s governor followed suit.
