Piers Morgan denounced Disney for turning woke as the corporation got rid of the use of gender pronouns at its theme parks, the journalist and writer featured on Fox News’s show “The Five” and the focus of the conversation was Disney’s plans to remove gender terms. The host of Fox Nation made his disappointment known by calling the move “pathetic”. Taking part in the panel discussion, Piers Morgan said, “You can’t go to a theme park and hear the words, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls’. What’s going on? You’ve got this small group of very vocal, very woke people, very active online, and they bully companies into following their narrow world view.”
Piers Morgan stated that he admires companies such as Netflix and Spotify who supported Dave Chappelle during his standup which was labelled as “transphobic” by some and Joe Rogan, whose podcast was accused of spreading “misinformation” over COVID vaccines. Morgan added it is the correct way to react to the woke mob as it “gets bored and moves on”. Regarding Disney Piers Morgan added, “They want to be bullied by this woke mob into doing something they didn’t instinctively want to do, and now they’re being sucked into this woke trap? And when you apologise, by the way? It never stops. The moment you apologise, they keep coming.”
Piers Morgan’s remarks came after leaked tapes uncovered Disney’s exceutives discussing their agenda. In the meeting, Disney’s diversity and inclusion manager Vivian Ware said they put an end to the use of gender pronouns at their theme parks to give effect to their inclusivity campaign. Ware can be heard on the call saying, “Last summer we removed all gendered greetings in relationship to our live spiels. So, we no longer say ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls…..it’s hello everyone or hello friends. We say dreamers of all ages”.
Earlier on March 29th Pierce Morgan called out the multinational entertainment giant during his appearance on Fox News’s Jesse Watters Primetime show and emphasized the “unhealthy power” the woke culture holds “over corporate America and media in America”. He told Watters, “My message to corporate America is, ‘Be more like Netflix and Spotify, and less like Disney’. Because you can’t bow to the mob.”
On May last year, Piers Morgan criticised the woke movement via an article on Daily Mail writing that “the lunatic woke mob brigade” had directed their “micro aggression, mind-numbingly stupid wokery and whiny self-righteous ire” towards Disney’s Snow White’s Enchanted Wish ride at the theme park in Anaheim, California.
