Harry Styles dropped ‘As It Was’, First single from his new album

Harry Styles Vogue Tyler Mitchell

‘As It Was’, Harry’s first song from his upcoming album Harry’s House has been released. At the starting of the video song kids voice can be heard, which fans believe to be Olivia Wilde’s kids. Harry first declared about this release on 28th March, with some snaps of the video where he can be seen wearing a red attire of sequins.

In the video, apart from sweet sight of shirtless Harry at the pool, he in his red attire spins and dances around in an art based world with a dancer, who’s outfit is in blue matching the sequins from Harry’s red one. According to the Twitter threads from the viewers of the video, it can be depicted that unlike Watermelon Sugar, ‘as It Was’ is not based on female orgasm. This song more profoundly features Harry’s own stardom and image swirling with conflicted feelings and dangling love life. Most people did notice a lot more on the kids part as the video song started off as, “Come on, Harry, we wanna say ‘Goodnight’ to you”, and when the lyrics arrived on lines that mention “two kids” and “leaving America”, which clearly set our minds to Olivia Wilde and her kids.

“There was a time when I was younger, and I was in [One Direction], when I would have been afraid for everything to have stopped,” the artist recently told Dazed, “I didn’t necessarily know who I was if I wasn’t in the band. Now, the idea of people going, ‘We don’t like your music any more, go away’ doesn’t scare me. I think there was a time when it did. It gives me the freedom to kind of go, ‘Great!’ I’m not working from a place of fear. I’m working from a place of wanting to work stuff out, and try different things.”
