South Korean actress and model Jung Ho-Yeon will be seen starring opposite in the widely popular Canadian singer The Weeknd’s upcoming music video. Jung Ho-Yeon, best known for starring in hit Netflix Korean drama show “Squid Game” will be working with the artist whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. In an Instagram post, The Weeknd gave a glance to the fans of his upcoming music video called “Out of Time”, the picture showed the singer with Ho-Yeon. In the caption of the post, The Weeknd wrote, “out of time: tuesday”, Out of Time is a track of The Weeknd’s latest album released in January this year called “Dawn FM”. This is the first time the South Korean actress and model will appear in an American music video.
After learning the unexpected news of The Weeknd and Ho-Yeon coming together to create music, fans expressed their excitement on social media with a fan writing on Twitter, “Oh my God, two icons together”. Although, many fans noted that this collaboration happened after The Weeknd posted a photo of Jung Ho-Yeon on his Instagram stories in October last year, which many think he did after watching Squid Game. One fan also posted a screenshot of The Weeknd’s Instagram story from October, 2021 and wrote, “We’re so blind”, the photo showed Jung Ho-Yeon and her coactor Lee Yoo Mi, both the actors can be seen in their Squid Game avatar.
Jung Ho-Yeon, who is 27 years old, played the character of Kang Sae-byeok in Squid Game, the show which has broken records is written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, also known for creating Silenced (2011) and Miss Granny (2014). Jung Ho-Yeon was praised for her performance in the series, she won an award in February at the Screen Actors Guild Award in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor category for her role. Ho-Yeon started her acting career in 2013 after she attained third position in Korea’s Next Top Model, a modelling reality show.
