Oscars 2022: ‘Encanto’ received Best Animated Feature Film Award

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ animated comedy movie, Encanto earned the nomination for Best Animated Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards held on Sunday. The other nominees for the same category are Luca (Pixar), Raya and the Last Dragon (Walt Disney Animation), Danish indie film Flee, and Sony Pictures Animation’s The Mitchells vs. the Machines. Apart from winning the Best Animated Feature Film Award, Encanto also has nominations in other categories like Best score which was won by Hans Zimmer, and Best Original Song for “Dos Oruguitas”.

The other huge achievement of the movie is the live performance of one of the songs from the movie, We don’t talk about Bruno” written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. This was the first time a song from the movie with the members had been performed live at the Oscars. The song was a smashing hit and was trending on apps like Tik-Tok. The song attracted a huge amount of audience after the release of the movie. The cast of the movie includes Stephanie Beatriz who performed Mirabel Madrigal, Carolina Gaitan, Diane Guerrero, John Leguiza, Adassa and Maura Castilo. The whole cast will be joining in the performance.
