Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards ceremony is a controversy not going to be out of anyone’s mind for a long time. The Best Actor award winner , Will Smith for King Richard got angry on Rock’s joke about his wife on the Oscars night and slapped him right on stage in front of all the audience. This incident did create a huge controversy among the fans as well as the celebrities.

Later on Will Smith, shared a post on social media, filled with a long emotional message regarding the controversial matter. In that post he apologised to Chris Rock saying that his behaviour was unacceptable and inexcusable. Smith penned,  “Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally. I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.” Although Will had apologised for his actions, The Academy, which said in a tweet after the Oscars that it does not “condone violence of any form,” is reviewing Will Smith’s actions and still haven’t decided for any consequences.

Jada has a disease call alopecia, which causes extreme hair loss, the condition of which Chris made a joke about.
