Andrew Garfield again proved that he has got back Zendaya’s back, both the stars posed for pictures at the Oscars red carpet. Andrew Garfield’s character saves Zendaya’s character of MJ in Spider Man: No Way Home. Garfield was nominated for Best Actor category for his role in film “tick, tick…..BOOM!”. He and Zendaya posed for photos, she played the role of Chani in movie “Dune” which bagged academy awards in six categories including Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Sound, Best Visual Effects and received nominations in four categories such as Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
Earlier, Andrew Garfield told Variety during his comeback in Spider Man after seven years, “I will say the image of my catching MJ…that was really beautiful and it kind of sold me on the whole thing.” In 2014’s The Amazing Spider Man 2, Garfield’s character fails to rescue Gwen Stacy’s character played by Emma Stone as she falls from the top, she dies. At this Garfield stated, “My Spider-Man got to save his younger brother’s romantic relationship, potentially. And to heal the most traumatic moment of his own life through doing it for his younger brother. Making sure that he didn’t have the same fate, there’s something cosmically beautiful about that. It meant getting a second chance at saving Gwen.”
Spider-Man: No Way Home got a single Oscar nomination in Best Visual Effects which it lost to Dune. When The Hollywood Reporter asked Garfield about Spider Man: No Way Home not winning the award, he told, “I really love that movie and I really love (producer) Amy and (director) Jon Watts and Kevin and, obviously Tom and Zendaya and Jacob and Tobey and all the cast. The movie has been a kind of juggernaut of proportions that I don’t think any of us really expected. I can only speak for myself and I just feel grateful to be a part of something that is keeping cinemas alive right now, keeping cinemas full, and helping in that regard and making sure that the live experience or the communal experience of going to the movies remains intact.”
Garfield further added, “It’s very, very cool to see audiences still deeply longing for the thing that I know that we’re all deeply longing for. I think Spider Man is obviously one of those movies right now and that’s so cool, and I’m so, so grateful to be a part of that.”
