Gillian Anderson, an award-winning actor and producer, has signed a first-look deal with Netflix through her production company Fiddlehead Productions. The agreement is for television production and has a two-year initial term.
Anderson has had a fruitful relationship with Netflix in recent years, winning Emmy, SAG, Critics Choice, and Golden Globe awards for her role in the Netflix series “The Crown.” Anderson, who played Margaret Thatcher in Season 4, was completely transformed into the former British Prime Minister.
She also plays Dr. Jean Milburn, a sex therapist, in Netflix’s comedy drama “Sex Education,” which is set to return for a fourth season.

Anderson is also known for her roles in hit shows such as “The X Files,” in which she co-starred with David Duchovny, and “The Fall,” in which she co-starred with Jamie Dornan. She will next be seen as Eleanor Roosevelt in Showtime’s “The First Lady,” which will premiere in the United States in April.
“Netflix has been an inspiring and supportive home for much of my recent acting work, so I am thrilled to be collaborating with them on the television projects I am currently developing,” Anderson said. “We share a love of progressive, compelling, and engaging stories, and I’m excited to announce our collaboration.”

“We feel very privileged to be working closely with Gillian on new projects,” said Anne Mensah, Netflix’s VP of U.K. series. Her success at Netflix is unparalleled, from ‘Sex Education’ to her unique portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in ‘The Crown,’ and we look forward to launching shows with her as an actress and executive producer.”
Anderson is represented by Independent Talent Group in the United Kingdom and United Talent Agency in the United States (U.S.).
