“Stranger Things” is a science-fiction horror drama show that started on Netflix in July, 2016, the series was made by the Duffer brothers and is based on a group of friends who live in Hawkins, Indiana, USA. The kids encounter supernatural powers and state secrets after one of their friends named Will goes missing. Stranger Things’s third season ended on July, 2019 and soon after a new season was confirmed by Netflix. But it got delayed owing to the pandemic though the release date of season 4 has been announced. Stranger Things’ season 4 will be released in two pars with volume 1 premiering on 27th May this year and volume 2 on July 1, 2022. The Duffer brothers noted that it will comprise of nine episodes and the time-duration of the episodes will be double than the ones in previous seasons.
Currently, there is barely any information but it will focus on Hopper being in jail in Russia and trying to escape and back home in Hawkins, the kids have been separated because of the Battle of Starcourt but will unite by the arrival of another supernatural force. In a conversation during a podcast called “Present Company With Krista Smith”, creator Ross Duffer while teasing the arrival of season 4 said fans will be happy with it as it is very long. Duffer added that this is the reason why it took so much time to create season 4, “I think they’ll be happy when they see it. It’s very, very long, which is why it’s taking us a very long time.”
At the time when the Duffer brothers confirmed the date of release, they told that the season comprises of nine episodes , fans will say that season 2 too has nine episodes. But those episode’s length was approximately one hour whereas season 4’s episodes will probably be two-hour long. This means that the new season will portray more horror scenes and with long episodes Stranger Things will further engage its fans more. And since the shooting in done in multiple locations, it will likely have new characters.
A widely popular fan theory is that Dr Brenner will be back despite dying in season 1. Viewers also think that this season will introduce us to Eleven’s other siblings apart from Kali(Eight) who featured in season 2. There is speculation that time travel will also be a theme in the show as it featured the Creel house which is set in the 1950s.
