At the 94th Academy Awards, Chris Rock, comedian got smacked while being on stage by Will Smith. Will Smith got raged over a joke that Chris made maiming Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett. This move of Smith is trending all over the social media and internet receiving different reactions from the fans all over the world. Some saying Will’s protectiveness towards his wife made him take that step and others criticising the act of doing something disrespectful at the Oscars’ stage.
Chris was on stage to present the Best Documentary Award. He made a joke on Will’s Wife Jada saying, “Javier Bardem and his wife are both nominated. Now, if she loses, he can’t win. He is praying that Will Smith wins, like, please, lord. Jada, I love you. ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it, all right?”
For those who didn’t nderstand G.I. Jane joke, it’s mainly becase at several occassions Jada had spoken about a condition causing her excessive hairfall, a called alopecia. And in the 1997 G.I Jane movie, the character played by Demi Moore, Jordan sshaves her head while training for the Navy Seal aand later on she becomes G.I Jane. So when Chris joked about Smith’s Wife’s condition, Jada made no comment except for rolling her eyes at Chris Rock where as Will Smith did at first say, “Keep my wife out of your f****ng mouth”. Then he took the step to go on the stage and slapped Chrish Rock.
“LAPD investigative entities are aware of an incident between two persons during the Academy Awards presentation,” the LAPD said in a statement. One person slapped another during the incident.” “The individual participant has declined to submit a police report,” it said, referring to Chris Rock. The LAPD will be available on investigative report if the relevant party wants a police report at a later date.”
