American singer and songwriter Charlie Puth’s new song is going to be released this year titled “That’s Hilarious”, the news of which he announced on Instagram. While the popular singer was narrating that he is “very excited” for the song, he broke down and said that the song is based on an emotionally damaging breakup in his life. Charlie Puth in a video posted on Instagram communicated with his fans regarding the release of his upcoming track. The video began with him saying he is thrilled about it but the song apparently brought back some heartbreaking memories as he couldn’t hold back tears. Puth said, “I’m really excited for this song to come out. But every time I hear it I’m kind of brought back to the time that was really, really challenging in my life.”

Further speaking, he added, “It just rears its ugly head every time- sorry- every time that I hear it.” The Marvin Gaye singer opened up about his breakup, which occurred three years ago in 2019, “I’m also really excited for you to hear it as well because I just heard the master, but it just brought me back to 2019, which was the f***ing worst year of my life.” Charlie Puth recalled, “I never told people what happened to me and the pain that I went through going through the worst breakup of my life in 2019. I just wanted to throw it under the carpet and just start over and surround myself with better people.” He concluded by mentioning, “This is the hardest song that I’ve ever had to put together and I’m excited for you to hear it. So thank you.”

In the tearful video, he explained that his next track is very close to his heart. As per reports, there were rumours that he was dating singer Charlotte Lawrence in 2019 and there was conjecture that he was in a relationship with Selena Gomez and Halston Sage. In the caption, Charlie Puth wrote, “This is a very hard song for me to listen to, but it’s worth it. ‘That’s Hilarious’ coming to April.”

Meanwhile, his fans comforted him in the comment section telling him that they love him and how much he means to them.
