Baki Hanma Season 2 is now officially in production. As with the previous season, the anime series will be available exclusively on Netflix and will air in Japan on the Tokyo MX channel. In addition to the announcement, the official Baki Hanma Twitter account shared six new teaser images from the upcoming season.
Baki Hanma is an adaptation of the manga’s third series, Baki: Son of Ogre, and is a sequel to the original Baki series, which debuted on Netflix in 2018. Baki Hanma’s first season premiered exclusively on Netflix in September 2021. Furthermore, the series is currently airing on Japanese television, with the first season coming to an end.
The first season featured fights between a variety of opponents, including a fictitious 100kg praying mantis. The Pickle Wars Saga will be covered in the second season, leading up to the final battle with Baki’s father. Baki will face Pickle, a primitive man discovered preserved in a saline rock. Pickle is featured in the new teaser images, as well as scenes with Baki’s father Yujiro Hanma and Kaiou Retsu.
Baki: King of Souls, a mobile game adaptation of the franchise, was released in Japan on March 18, 2022. Players can collect various popular fighters from the series and pit them against each other in battle.
Baki Hanma Season 2 is currently in production. The upcoming season will be available exclusively on Netflix around the world. There is no set release date.
Toshiki Hirano directed Baki’s first several seasons (Rayearth, Dangioh, and more). Fujio Suzuki (009-1, New Getter Robo) created the character.
Baki’s scripts were written by Tatsuhiko Urahata (Tsuredure Children). The music was composed by Kenji Fujisawa. Tetsu Kojima served as executive producer.
There were two new additions to Baki Hanma’s TMS Entertainment team, in addition to the main returning staff. Shingo Ishikawa, a new character designer, and Masanori Nishiyama, a new art director, joined the team.
Generation from Exile Tribe performed the Baki Hanma OP “Unchained World” for the first season, while GRANRODEO performed the ED “Treasure Pleasure.” GRANRODEO’s music has been featured in previous Baki seasons.
Baki Hanma Season 1 was set to premiere on September 30, 2021. Netflix was the only place where you could watch all 12 episodes.
22nd of March, 2022: Season 2 of Baki Hanma: Song of Ogre is confirmed to be in the works.
