Recently, Blackpink found itself at a Philippines presidential elections campaign rally. The Philippines is all set to elect a new president on May 9th this year and the candidates for the upcoming elections have been carrying out campaign rallies and marches till the polling date. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr, the son of former president and dictator leader Ferdinand Marcos, boxer Manny Pacquaio and Leni Robredo who is the current vice-president of the country, are the front-runners in the elections. Whereas Sara Duterte, who is the daughter of current serving president of Philippines Rodrigo Duterte, is the running mate of Marcos Jr and is running for the post of vice president.

Leni Robredo and her running mate Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, held a rally in Pasig and it attracted a crowd of about one hundred eighty thousand people. It was the biggest rally of the candidates. During the rally, BLACKPINK’s hit song “Kill This Love” played and the crowd went nuts. As soon as Lisa uttered “BLACKPINK in your area” at the start of the track, the audience sang as well. On social media BLINKs were delighted to see approximately 180,000 Filipinos enjoying the music of BLACKPINK.

Earlier, TWICE’s popular track “The Feels” was played at Leni Robredo’s election rally on March 11 in Bacolod, a city in Negros Island of Philippines and song “Fancy” was played at Pasig. Clips of Robredo’s rallies have gone viral on social media. Although BLACKPINK members have not commented or gave a reaction to their tracks being so popular in Philippines, we’re certain that they will be happy to see massive crowds chanting their songs.
