Dune director wishes to direct a dark comedy written by Adam McKay

Denis Villeneuve Fights Back HBO Max Dune 768x432 1

The Dune director, Denis Villeneuve reveals that he desires to direct a dark comedy written by writer/director Adam McKay. In any case when one thinks of Villeneuve, him and comedy movies are something that doesn’t quite fit in the mind.

Villeneuve being one of the most respectable directors in Hollywood giving shows like Prisoners, Arrival, Blade Runner:2049 and the most recent Dune. His films mainly composed of dark cinematics and great storylines. McKay, on the other hand, make films with dark thoughtful tones within them but on the same note make the audience laugh through it. McKay’s latest film was about a group of scientist who are desperately trying to aware the uninterested crowd of an impending comet strike that is going to eliminate all life, “Don’t Look Up” has been nominated for the Oscars’22 in the Best Picture category alongside of Villeneuve’s Dune.

In an interview which was recently taken with Variety, Villeneuve admitted that he secretly wants McKay to write a dark comedy for him to direct. It seems surprising coming from a man specializing in dark and brooding material. It is currently unclear whether or not McKay is aware of Villeneuve’s collaboration thought, However, it is very likely for these two creative minds when put together could create a masterpiece. Perhaps these two might discuss the idea over the Oscar Ceremony.

Villeneuve did mention that he would love to ‘turn and do something different’. He also mentioned that he would be interested in directing an adaption of the French-Canadian cyber-punk rock opera “Starmania”. Currently Villeneuve is in full prep mode for his much anticipated and much awaited Dune: Part 2 which is set to be released next year.
