BTS’s Jimin emerged as the first and foremost South Korean male musician to have three songs sell over five hundred thousand units in America. Jimin’s “Lie” is the first song to sell 500,000 units back in February, then his song “Serendipity” made headlines in March and soon after that “Filter” followed. The popular American magazine Rolling Stone opted hundred best songs of BTS, one of the largest bands in the world which is known for its unique music and songs that surpass language, country, culture and ethnicity. In the ranking which started from “Spring Day” at the top to “Cypher Part 1”, a multitude of songs and music of BTS’s albums starting from its debut to the last ones ranging from various genres were selected and obviously Jimin’s solo songs “Serendipity” and “Filter”. All three song’s selection among best songs display his immense talent and skills.
Jimin’s “Serendipity” ranked 25 in the year 2018 among popular hit songs of BTS. Rolling Stone gave excellent reviews about Serendipity noting that the song “is the most delicate love song in which a simple request to a person, ‘Just let me love you’ is performed with the voice of the most delicate tenor”. In fact, Jimin’s first solo song “Lie”, which was released in 2016, managed to climb 32nd rank. Jimin who represents a striking high-pitched voice in the group recently said, “In general, high-pitched vocals are sweet, but when Jimin sings, it transforms into an unforgettable cry, sorrow, and wailing.”
