Seven people have been charged in connection with an armed robbery that occurred last month on the French set of the hit Netflix series ‘Lupin.’ According to a Netflix spokesperson, approximately twenty hooded thieves attacked the film crew by launching fireworks at them.
During the heist, they stole over €300,000 (£250,000; $330,000) in equipment in broad daylight. There were no injuries among the cast or crew on set, which included the show’s star, Omar Sy.
The crew was attacked while filming in the Nanterre district, west of central Paris, forcing a brief halt in production.

According to Agence France-Presse, the seven accused, aged 13 to 21, now face charges of armed robbery as part of an organized gang and receiving stolen goods.
Three of them are in custody, while the other four are under judicial supervision. Police say they are still on the lookout for more assailants and have recovered some of the stolen equipment.
The show, based on the fictional French master of disguise Arsène Lupin, tells the story of professional thief Assane Diop, played by Omar Sy.
The first season of the show, which debuted last year, was watched by millions of people around the world, making it the first French series to achieve such widespread acclaim on Netflix.

Lupin isn’t the only high-profile Netflix production to have been targeted by robbers this year. The day before the Paris heist, robbers in South Yorkshire, UK, stole over 200 antique props from the set of the TV series The Crown.
The stolen items were worth up to £150,000, including a replica of a Fabergé egg owned by the Queen’s grandfather, George V, in 1933.
