A new season of Legacies premiered on The CW last October and will be available on Netflix in 2022. We will continue our journey with Hope, Milton, and Lizzie on October 14th, 2021. The spin-off series continues to be available on Netflix as part of a legacy contract with The CW (but only in the United States), so here’s when season 4 of Legacies will be available.
Beginning in 2018, the series is a spin-off of The Originals, which is a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries (both of which remain on Netflix for the foreseeable future).
Danielle Rose Russell, Aria Shahghasemi, Kaylee Bryant, and Jenny Boyd are among the cast members for the fourth season of the spin-off.
Season 4 returns to The CW in October after season 3 was postponed until January 2021 due to filming delays. The new season, like the previous three, is expected to have 16 episodes.
Just a quick note before we get into when the series will be available on Netflix.
Season 3 of Legacies was not available on Netflix when season 4 began, but all sixteen episodes were eventually added on October 19th, 2021.
As part of The CW’s contract with Netflix (which ended in 2019 but still covers Legacies), new seasons are released on the streaming service shortly after the series concludes.
That usually means the show will be available on Netflix 8-9 days after the season finale, but as previously stated, this was not the case for season 3.
Having said that, the deal should resume normalcy in 2022. At this rate, the final episode of Legacies season 4 will air on The CW on April 21st, 2022.
That means that if we apply the 9-day wait, season 4 of Legacies should be available on Netflix in the United States on April 30th, 2022. If things don’t go as planned, it could be released in early May 2022.
In recent years, Netflix has not acquired any major titles from The CW, and while it has relicensed The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, Legacies has yet to be picked up.
In the UK, the show is still unsold, which means there is no legal way to stream it or even watch it on traditional television.
