The new Netflix American psychological crime thriller ‘Pieces of Her’ created by Charlotte Stoudt is based on the 2018 novel by ‘Karin Slaughter‘ of the same name. The show was premiered on Netflix on March 4, 2022. Directed by ‘Minkie Spiro’, the show follows the story of ‘Andrea Cooper‘ who is caught in a deadly mass shooting at a local diner. After some time, she witnessed her mother, Laura, violently eliminate the threat with ease. This changes Andy’s perception of her mother and she tries to figure out her mother’s dark past. The more she tries to unfold the secret of her mother’s past, the more danger it brings for both of them.
‘Pieces of Her’ season 2 is yet to be confirmed. The show might have ended but there are some bigger questions left to explore. Fans are really hoping to see Laura and Andy together again, but could there be a season 2? The series was originally created as a limited series, so it is unlikely that there would be a season 2. On being asked about season 2 of the show, creator Charlotte Stoudt revealed that this could be about to change, as long as the demand is there. She said, “It started as a limited series, and then I think there was a decision made at a certain point to go for a series”. “I believe that was a Netflix decision, but there’s certainly a lot more to tell and I purposely kind of started building it out a little bit more. I tried to open it up so it could have some legs should it find an audience.”
The show has not been completely adopted by the book. The writers have changed things here and there. We’ve seen changes being made in everything, the ending is completely different from what Karin Slaughter has written in her book.
