Day Shift: After Baby Driver, Another Quirky Film Of Jamie Foxx

Ever since the director JJ Perry gave a preview of his upcoming film titled “Day Shift”, the excitement level has risen. Working as a stunt coordinator in prominent films such as The Fast and The Furious and Bloodshot, JJ Perry is about to make his directorial debut with Day Shift. In one of his recent posts on Instagram, we see Jamie Foxx performing CPR on a man. The plot of this film hasn’t been told yet but as per media sources it is based on a man, played by Jamie Foxx, who comes from blue-collar class and is working hard to raise his eight year old daughter. However, the twist is that his boring job of cleaning a pool in San Fernando Valley is a pretext for his real profession! And that is hunting and killing vampires. It is being speculated that Day Shift is going to be an exciting fun adventure with elements of action, comedy along with myths as per its producer named Shaun Redick.

The filming started in June last year and regular previews are given via social media. Though an official release date has not been announced yet speculation is that its going to be this year. Jamie Foxx, best known for Ray and Collateral, is going to be the protagonist and other actors include Dave Franco (Now You See Me and 21 Jump Street), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Voyeurs and Guns Akimbo), Oliver Masucci (Look Who’s Back and Schachnovelle), Steve Howey (Bride Wars) and CS Lee.

The screenplay has been written by Tyler Tice while Shay Hatten, known for John Wick: Chapter 3-Parabellum and Army of the Dead, has done script’s revisions, Chad Stahelski, the director of John Wick, is serving as the producer and Jamie Foxx is the executive producer. With the creators of John Wick, it is certain that Day Shift is going to be amazing. Recently, the Deadline.com reported that Meagan Good (Shazam!), Karla Souza (How To Get Away With Murder), Scott Adkins (Debt Collectors), Eric Lange (Antebellum) and Snoop Dogg have also been added to the cast of the movie.

Jamie Foxx has never disappointed as seen in Ray for which he won an Academy Award and in Collateral he was the hero whereas Tom Cruise was the villain, And finally his most beloved performance was in Django Unchained opposite Leonardo. A Grammy-winner and a comedian, Foxx is multitalented.
