Meta, Instagram’s parent company, confirmed Kanye West won’t be on Instagram for a day confirming he’s account got suspended. The rapper was suspended on Wednesday March 16 after a post that targeted Trevor Noah. He posted racial slurs aimed at Trevor quoting the post, ‘Kumbaya, My Lord’ but changed the lyrics.

Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta, formerly known as Facebook confirm about the suspension to TMZ, citing a violation of their policies pertaining to hate speech, harassment and bullying. They also added further steps will be taken if the violation continues.

The suspension means Kanye won’t be able to do anything he can normally do on Instagram including posting, liking, sharing, commenting and sending DMs to others. It’s rare for Meta to take such actions, but they have done it in past with Donald Trump.

The post came after Trevor talked about Kim’s contentious split on The Daily Show. On the daily Comedy Central series, “What’s weird about the situation is Kanye West has told us that he struggles with his mental health, So I get it, you wanna have art as therapy. But here’s what’s weird that Kanye doesn’t understand. It’s like, what we are seeing is — it makes you uncomfortable,” Trevor said.

Pete has become the main target of Kanye’s on going social media posts as his romance with Kim Kardashian moves forward. On last weekend, Kanye, on a photo of Pete ‘in bed’ with Kim, said that he was antagonized by the SNL cast member. Pete also tried to offer help to Kanye if he desires to get mental health support.

Pete on Kanye’s post responded with a long caption which now is deleted mention, “There are few artists who have had more of an impact on me than you Ye. You took samples and turned them into symphonies. You took your pain and through the wire turned it into performance perfection. I thought differently about how I spend my money because of you, I learned to protect my child-like creativity from grown thoughts because of you, s— I still smile every time I put on my seatbelt because of you.”
