Kareena Kapoor Khan will make her OTT debut in a Netflix film directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the streaming service announced on Wednesday.
The untitled murder mystery will star Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma, and is based on the 2005 Japanese bestseller “The Devotion of Suspect X” Ghosh, known for directing thrillers such as Vidya Balan’s “Kahaani” and Taapsee Pannu’s “Badla” expressed excitement about adapting the acclaimed Keigo Higashino novel for the film.
“‘Devotion’ is probably the best love story I’ve ever read, and having the opportunity to adapt it into a film is an honour.”

Kareena, who was most recently seen in the 2020 film “Angrezi Medium” described the project as the start of a “electrifying” journey.
“It has all the right ingredients: a great story, a visionary director, and an extremely talented cast and crew. I’m excited to collaborate with Sujoy, Jaideep, and Vijay.
“It’s the beginning of an electrifying journey and I can’t wait for audiences worldwide to see this global bestseller book come to life,” said the 41-year-old actor.
The film is produced by 12th Street Entertainment, Northern Lights Films, and Boundscript in collaboration with Kross Pictures. Jay Shewakramani, Akshai Puri, Ghosh, and Thomas Kim will all serve as producers alongside Ghosh.
