The Umbrella Academy S3 Gets Explicit Change On Netflix

Fans of The Umbrella Academy have even more cause to be excited about the impending third season, since Netflix looks to have made significant changes to the show.
This weekend, Netflix revealed that the Hargreeves will return to our screens on June 22, when the third season of the popular superhero series is released on the streaming site.
A preview for the forthcoming instalment revealed the new Sparrow Academy, which is home to an alternate powerful family, as well as the return of main cast members such as Robert Sheehan, Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, and Aidan Gallagher.

Despite the parallels to past seasons, Netflix has already established one distinction for the forthcoming season – its age rating.
Fans of the show noticed that Netflix raised the rating on the United States’ TV Parental Guidelines from TV-14 to TV-MA, implying that something in the future series is particularly inappropriate for younger audiences.
In the United States, the TV-14 classification is commonly considered as ‘Parents Strongly Warned.’ Because it contains “some material that many parents would find unsuitable for children under 14 years of age,” content with this classification is intended for audiences aged 15 and above.

Naturally, the decision to upgrade The Umbrella Academy from a TV-14 program to a TV-MA show is fascinating, but it appears that fans will just have to wait to find out why the classification has changed. The program is rated 15 in the United Kingdom.
Gerard Way, the show’s creator, has previously stated that the new season “deals with a very big reveal in the Umbrella Academy universe,” notably “something that has been secret for a long time.”

‘Our siblings learn a lot about what was going on behind the scenes, as well as the actual nature of some individuals who have been with them since the beginning,’ he added. Finally, the series begins to address the issue, ‘What about the other infants born on that day, at that time?’ The Umbrella Academy siblings are no longer alone in the world.’
It remains to be seen whether the answer to this query is what has spurred the increase in age rating, but at least we now know when everything will be disclosed.
