It has been confirmed that Tatiana Maslany will portray the role of lawyer Jennifer Walters who transforms into Jade Giantess. Most viewers are unfamiliar with She-Hulk although Jennifer Walters in several ways is just like her popular cousin Bruce Banner. However, there are many characteristics which sets her apart from Hulk. The Hulk got his superpowers from an accident which involved gamma radiation. Dr Bruce Banner was caught off-guard by a bomb blast on a test site which led to him becoming the Hulk. Jennifer Walters is a successful criminal attorney and while getting a gangster to testify against his boss in a trial , she gets shot by her client’s men. Hence, only her cousin Bruce happened to have the matching blood type and in spite of risk, he gives her a blood transfusion saving Jennifer’s life and also giving her his powers. Fans may see the two green beasts with the same lens but there are some differences such as Bruce Banner losing his mind while turning into Hulk whereas She-Hulk retains her intellect due to her less intense gamma exposure.
Since the 80s, She-Hulk has been a relevant character in the comic books as well as TV shows. Having being trained in combat by Captain America and Gamora, she brought humor to Stan Lee’s fans by featuring on the cover of her second series and telling the readers that she will destroy their X-Men books if they didn’t buy her comics! She-Hulk has been a member of Mighty Avengers, Fantastic Four, Lady Liberators etc. Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk being a “lawyer who specializes in superhuman-oriented legal cases”. While there is no news as to whom she will represent but it has been announced that Mark Ruffalo will be back playing the role of Bruce Banner in this much awaited series along with Tim Roth who will play Abomination. Considering the legal trouble the Avengers got stuck into, there is speculation that Jennifer Walters may be introduced as Bruce Banner’s cousin who will legally represent the superheroes.
With confirmed news of Jameela Jamil from Radio DJ and The Good Place fame playing the role of She-Hulk’s nemesis Titania and Jessica Gao, known for Rick and Morty “Pickle Rick” episode, serving as the lead writer, Disney’s CEO confirmed that She-Hulk series will be released only after Ms. Marvel which is releasing sometime in April this year.
