What We Know So Far About Netflix’s Vampire Film “Smile”

In order to increase its output of spooky entertainment, Netflix has teamed up with The Batman director Matt Reeves and His Dark Materials filmmaker William McGregor to develop a vampire film titled Smile.
With Reeves producing, William McGregor will direct the film and co-write the script with Helen Kingston, who also authored the narrative for the 2019 Lena Headey film The Flood. McGregor has previously directed projects such as His Dark Materials, Poldark, Gwen, Misfits, Lockwood & Co., and others.

Smile, like the successful film The Batman starring Robert Pattinson, will be produced by Matt Reeves’ 6th & Idaho production business.

Smile follows Millie, a youngster whose life is flipped upside down after she is bitten by a vampire while on a school trip to Los Angeles. Millie, desperate to be human again, discovers she can reverse the process if she can kill the guy who bit her before the following morning.
6th & Idaho Productions, for example, has an overall arrangement with Netflix. 12 Scars, Button Man, Dead of Winter, and Last Sons of America are among their previous Netflix productions. The film is billed as “a vampire story in the vein of Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive.”
As of March 2022, no cast members for Netflix’s Smile have been announced.
Smile is now in active development, which means that the script is being developed and updated, with pre-production to follow. The film’s production will most likely begin this year.

Netflix hasn’t disclosed any release dates for Smile, but given its early development stage, we can presumably anticipate it in 2023.
