The Halo series finally has a release date after many unpredictable delays since 2013. Judging by the trailer of the show, it can be said that there’s anticipation among the viewers. The series is also the first appearance of Master Chief who is the protagonist of the Halo franchise and it is also the first time that this prominent military fictional franchise is being associated with a massive budget TV production. Information on the subject and content of the show is not clear but as far as the date of release, the cast, the storyline and context are concerned, they have been announced. Halo is one of the most remarkable parts of the gaming industry. Hence, it was first announced in 2013 that Halo will be adapted into a TV series and released in 2015 with Steven Spielberg as the executive producer. Although the release date was pushed to 2019 with Rupert Wyatt being appointed as the director and producer and Kyle Killen as the series’s showrunner. While the making continued, the director was replaced by Otto Bathurst because of some disputes and the show’s release date was made 2020 and later 2022 when it was move to Paramount+. And in January 2022, executive producer Justin Falvey announced that series will have multiple seasons. A trailer of the show premiered at a prominent football match where it was announced that it will hit the screens on March 24, 2022.
As per the trailer and several clips, it seems that the series will mostly depict the Master Chief and Cortana as they battle the alien Covenant Empire whose motive is to get rid of humanity.A character called Makee is capturing the attention of viewers as she is shown as a human woman who is working with the Covenant and is seen releasing alien species on soldiers. There is speculation whether the feature in the game which is Master Chief eliminating the Forerunners, an alien species destroying life in the galaxy, will be used in the show as well. It has not been confirmed officially how many episodes are going to be there in Season 1 of Halo, however, initially it was known to have ten episodes but was reduced to nine when Rupert Wyatt was replaced by Otto Bathurst in 2019. Although, nobody involved with the project has shared the number of episodes. Pablo Schreiber will be the protagonist, Natascha McElhone known for Californication will portray Dr Catherine Halsey who is the head of the Spartan program, veteran actress Shabana Azmi will play the role of Admiral Margaret Parangosky of the UNSC’s navy and Charlie Murphy of Peaky Blinders fame will depict Makee which is a new character in Halo.
