Vikings: Valhalla has been renewed for a second and third season by Netflix after its season premiere received considerable acclaim. The first season of the historical drama followed the end of the Viking Age, as signified by the Battle of Stamford Bridge. The series, created by Jeb Stuart, has been in the top ten list of Netflix in about ninety countries.
According to the streamer, it has also had over 194 million views in the first nine days of its release. The show’s core cast includes Sam Corlett, Frida Gustavsson, Leo Suter, and Bradley Freegard, among others.

The streamer announced the show’s renewal with an intriguing video montage highlighting the show’s achievements thus far. The caption said, “Vikings: Valhalla will return for Season 2 — and Season 3!” Take a peek around.
The second season, according to Collider, has already concluded production and will premiere in 2023. Sam Corlett will reprise his role as Leif Eriksson, Freydis Eriksdotter will be played by Frida Gustavsson, and the Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson will be played by Leo Suter. The third season will begin production later this year, with creator, showrunner, and executive producer Jeb Stuart on board.

Stuart made the following statement in a Netflix announcement: “THANK YOU to the millions of Valhalla fans who have watched (and rewatched!) Season One. The figures have blown my mind and beyond my greatest expectations. I’m overjoyed to be able to say that we wrapped Season Two and are already editing Season Three, and that production on Season Three will begin soon. While the narratives for Leif, Freydis, Harald, Olaf, Canute, and the rest of our incredible ensemble remain a mystery, I can assure you that their adventures will be even more spectacular than what you’ve seen thus far. SKÅL”.

The first season of Vikings: Valhalla launched on Netflix on February 25, 2022, with a 10-episode run. Niels Arden Oplev directed the first episode, while Steve Saint Leger directed the next three. Hannah Quinn is another series director.
