The Scream franchise was made by essayist Kevin Williamson, who also composed Scream 2 and Scream 4, however quit Scream 3, which was composed by Ehren Kruger (The Ring). The first four films were coordinated by unbelievable awfulness producer Wes Fainthearted, who passed away in 2015. Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett, part of the filmmaking aggregate known as Radio Silence, both composed and coordinated Scream 2022, which was chief delivered by Williamson. The success of the latest film has prompted the group being rehired for Scream 6, which will be their next attempt.
After the passing of Dewey in Scream 2022, the franchise’s last remaining original stars are both Cox and Campbell. With the franchise continuing and more Ghostface murders on the way, it seems no doubt plausible that one of the two will bite the dust in Scream 6, assuming both return for the film. Cox is willing to return, yet Campbell has yet to remark on a return for another cavort in Woodsboro. As sequels go, the chances for survival on recurring characters get more fragile and more vulnerable, but at the same time it’s possible that Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett have something special up their sleeves for Scream 6 that could subvert those expectations altogether.
Actress Courteney Cox says she’d be available to returning for Scream 6. Cox has starred in every one of the five of the Scream movies thus far, beginning with the 1997 original from chief Wes Fainthearted. Cox’s Storm Weathers begins the franchise as a news correspondent who is working the Woodsboro Ghostface murders, in the long run getting enveloped with solving them herself, teaming up with Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott and David Arquette’s Representative Dewey Riley. Thus far, Cox has managed to survive the franchise, while almost everyone else from one film to another has perished under Ghostface’s blade.
Cox has been involved in various projects all through her career, most prominently as Monica on the hit Network program, Friends. She was also in the first Masters of the Universe film with Dolph Lundgren, later appearing as Michael J. Fox’s adoration interest in the show Family Ties. Cox also famously showed up in Jim Carrey’s Pro Ventura: Pet Investigator, as well as starring in the show Soil on FX, prior to moving on to the hit show Cougar Town on TBS. She’ll next star in the ghastliness satire series Shining Vale for Starz.
