Passengers on the Metro from Pershing Square to Hollywood/Vine in Los Angeles were in for a treat when British pop star, Alexander James Rodriguez selected the route for his latest music video ALRIGHT which cleverly oozes old Hollywood warmth with the teens young Hollywood celebrity charm.
Now in his third year of releasing original music, the 14-year-old filmed the music video on the metro transit ride between the eight stops in full view of on-looking commuters and on the iconic mezzanine ticket level located below some of Hollywood’s most famed landmarks including the Pantages Theatre and Capitol Records.
If wooing Friday night commuters wasn’t enough, Alexander set out onto Hollywood Boulevard, and in an unofficial homage to The Verve’s 1997 hit record Bitter Sweet Symphony, walked along the historic streets slowing down as he paced over Lin-Manuel Miranda’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame outside the ‘Hamilton’ displayed Pantages Theatre, as a nod to the Broadway musical creator.
Filled with 80’s synth-pop, funky bass and showcasing his silky-smooth vocals, Alexander’s catchy tune ALRIGHT has a certain bold edginess to it that marks a new beginning in music for the teenager.
Produced by Gemini Muziq (Justin Bieber: Purpose), with a live brass section from British film composer Ram Khatabakhsh (Kingsman: The Secret Service) and written by Alexander James Rodriguez and Liz Rodriguez, ALRIGHT has been released on the heels of the teens smash hit single Cherry Bomb, a song which earnt him the prestigious 2021 Hollywood Music in Media Award Nomination for “Best Independent Music Video” and winner of the “Audience Choice Award” at the 2021 LA Film Fest.
