TikTok has been the driving force behind a number of viral phenomena over the last several years, and it seems that this has finally paid off. After displacing dominating search engine [Google] from the top place, the viral video sharing platform will be the world’s most popular website in 2021.

According to the blog post, TikTok was the most popular app on Thanksgiving (November 25) and Black Friday (November 26) for the month of October and November.
On February 17, 2021, TikTok took the top rank for the first time, however Google quickly recaptured the top spot in the following days. On August 10, Google’s most-searched website, TikTok, broke out a significant lead over its search-engine rival Google.
