Alicia Silverstone has shown her willingness to collaborate with Brendan Fraser again for a sequel to their romantic comedy movie, Blast From the Past, or any other project in general.
Alicia Silverstone, who gained fame through the movie Clueless, has expressed her desire to reunite with Brendan Fraser for a sequel of the romantic comedy film Blast From the Past, or for any other project. The original movie was released in 1999 and starred Fraser as Adam Webber, who spent his entire life in a fallout shelter before meeting Eve (Silverstone) and discovering the modern world. Although it has been 24 years since the film’s release, Silverstone believes there is more to the story and is interested in a sequel.
During a reunion panel for the ’90s movie “Clueless” at the ’90s Con, Silverstone expressed her desire for a sequel to “Blast From the Past”. According to Variety, both Silverstone and Fraser were present at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on March 12, where Silverstone expressed her enthusiasm for Fraser’s Oscar speech.
What’s Next For Brendan Fraser
Following Fraser’s victory at the Oscars, there has been a lot of anticipation in Hollywood about his comeback. It’s been almost ten years since the actor last took center stage, and numerous former colleagues are rooting for him. Although casting Fraser in The Whale was a bold move by Darren Aronofsky, it has proven to be worthwhile. Fraser is finally receiving the acclaim he merits, and there is growing excitement about what his future endeavors may bring.
There has been some discussion about the possibility of Fraser returning to the fourth installment of The Mummy franchise following his recent financial gain. However, most of this conversation has been based on conjecture rather than any official announcements. Despite his extensive experience in action films, Fraser appears to be inclined towards more dramatic roles after his successful return to acting. He will be joining forces with Leonardo DiCaprio once again in Martin Scorsese’s forthcoming movie, Killers of the Flower Moon, which will be his first film project since winning an Oscar.
Although Fraser’s resurgence in popularity may make it seem like reviving his famous roles would be a straightforward victory, it doesn’t appear to be the optimal decision. After achieving recent triumphs, casting Fraser in a high-budget, showy blockbuster would potentially confine him again, and while a sequel to Blast From the Past may seem appealing, it may not be the most judicious decision for his career. Fraser has demonstrated his exceptional acting abilities, and it’s now up to the film industry to acknowledge their past errors and ensure that Fraser’s return is worthwhile.
