Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian, has explained why her character chose not to reveal the truth about the Mythosaur to Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) in the latest episode of the live-action Star Wars series.
In the previous episode of The Mandalorian titled “Chapter 18: The Mines of Mandalore,” the protagonist Din Djarin descends below the surface of Mandalore to redeem himself after breaking his helmet’s code in the previous season. He begins to sink, but Bo-Katan Kryze saves him and they both resurface. However, while Bo-Katan sees the Mythosaur, a legendary creature that confirms her childhood stories, she chooses not to tell Din about it in the latest episode “Chapter 19: The Convert.”
During her appearance on Entertainment Weekly’s Dagobah Dispatch podcast, Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian, explained why her character chose not to disclose the Mythosaur sighting to Din Djarin. Sackhoff clarified that Bo-Katan’s secrecy was not meant to be malicious and was due to her not entirely trusting what she saw. Additionally, the character is still processing the numerous things she has encountered, and due to her past experiences, she tends to be guarded. While Bo-Katan respects Din as a warrior and is intrigued by his beliefs, she does not know him well enough to share such information.
The Mandalorian Season 3 to Feature Return of Bo-Katan
Katee Sackhoff first voiced Bo-Katan in The Clone Wars, later returning for Star Wars Rebels, and made her live-action debut as the character in The Mandalorian season 2. In the upcoming season 3, Sackhoff will reprise her role as Bo-Katan, who is facing challenges in her journey as a former ruler of Mandalore.
Katee Sackhoff, known for her role in Halloween: Resurrection, has shared her experience playing Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian in a recent tweet. She expressed her enjoyment of shooting scenes with the character’s helmet on, explaining that it allows her to focus on conveying emotion through body movements rather than worrying about her facial expressions. Sackhoff also added that she enjoys running to the monitor to critique each take and ensure that the outcome is satisfactory, considering it a fun acting challenge.
