Jenna Ortega recently revealed how she changed certain dialogue lines while filming the Netflix hit series ‘Wednesday,’ on the podcast ‘Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard.’

The star started off by saying, “I don’t think I’ve ever had to put my foot down on a set in the way that I had to on Wednesday because it’s so easy to fall into [the teen] category, especially with this type of show. Everything that she does, everything that I had to play did not make sense for her character at all. Her being in a love triangle made no sense.”

Jenna further continued, “There was a line about this dress that she has to wear for a school dance and she says, ‘Oh my god, I love it! I can’t believe I said that. I literally hate myself.’ And I had to go, ‘No, there’s no way.’ There were times on that set where I even became unprofessional in a sense where I just started changing lines.”

The actress also shared how the script writers reacted to it. “The script supervisor thought I was going with something and then I would have to sit down with the writers and they’d be like, ‘Wait, what happened to the scene?’ And I would have to go through and explain why I couldn’t do certain things. I grew very, very protective of her.”

Jenna Ortega shares her experience working with The Weeknd

The ‘Scream VI’ star recently spoke with ET Canada about working with The Weeknd. “Well, what I can say about Abel is he’s genuinely such a sweetheart,” she said of Abel. “I was instantly comfortable. He’s just very respectful and very collaborative.”

Variety recently reported that The Weeknd and Jenna Ortega will be working together for a project that’s directed by Trey Edward Shult and co-written by Shults, Tesfaye and Reza Fahim.

“The team on that project is really, really wonderful,” Ortega said of the cast. “And I think that, you know, sometimes you don’t really know how much you can say, but they’ve all been immensely collaborative and wanting to know my voice and my opinion. And that’s always a really wonderful feeling when you’re stepping onto a set for the first time.”

‘Scream VI’ starring Jenna Ortega will arrive in theaters on March 10, 2023.
