The Armorer and Anzellans Take Center Stage in 'The Mandalorian' Season 3 Character Posters

Disney+ has unveiled fresh posters of characters to mark the launch of The Mandalorian’s third season. The new posters showcase the Armorer (played by Emily Swallow) and the Anzellans, the diminutive extraterrestrial beings personified by the mechanic Babu Frik. Both the characters appear in the debut episode of the latest season, where the protagonist Din Djarin (played by Pedro Pascal) apologizes to the Armorer and pledges to do anything to make amends for his wrongdoing. In the previous season’s finale, Djarin was expelled from his community after he revealed his face in the presence of others.

The show’s main character is aided by various other characters, including Armorer whom he has been friends since the first season. The Armorer made Djarin’s wardrobe almost entirely out of Beskar, a strong metal used by Mandalorians that can even withstand lightsaber hits. Even the young Grogu benefited from this friendship as the Armorer gave Djarin a small Beskar robe to protect the toddler during the events of The Book of Boba Fett. The Armorer is a significant figure in the Mandalorian’s life and is likely to play an important role in the protagonist’s new mission to seek redemption.

In contrast, the Anzellans were recently introduced to the characters in the television series, and viewers did not know them previously. However, fans may recognize the small mechanics, as Anzellan Babu Frik appeared in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. In that film, Babu Frik helped Rey, Finn, and Poe by accessing C-3PO’s circuits so he could translate an ancient Sith language inscribed on an old dagger. If C-3PO could translate the inscription, the group could continue their search for a Sith holocron that contained crucial information for the Resistance.

In The Mandalorian series, Babu Frik has a different mission to undertake. He must aid Djarin in repairing what is left of IG-11, the assassin droid that was initially sent to eliminate Grogu in the first season. However, IG-11 ultimately sacrificed himself to ensure the safety of Djarin and the child. Subsequently, Greef Karga kept the droid’s remains as a statue in Nevarro. Now, Djarin must find a way to revive IG-11, as his help is necessary for the protagonist’s pursuit of redemption.
