The age mystery of Cal in Manifest season 4 can be explained by the ongoing events surrounding the 828 Registry. This newly-established department within the New York City Police Department has initiated a conflict with the Flight 828 passengers. As they continue to oppress the passengers in the first part of season 4, they are now actively gathering and imprisoning them without a foreseeable release.
At present, the authorities have already apprehended Eagan and have detained Saanvi and Vance as well. This will undoubtedly exacerbate the situation for the passengers, who are already grappling with the knowledge that the world is facing impending doom. Their investigation has revealed that the Death Date will result in a volcanic cataclysm, potentially destroying civilization if they fail to find a solution to the Lifeboat by June 2, 2024. There is also speculation that Angelina, who possesses the powers of an Omega Sapphire, could be responsible for triggering this catastrophe.
Cal’s age revelation assists in avoiding the Registry’s pursuit
Although the Registry’s actions will undoubtedly increase the main characters’ difficulties, Cal may have an advantage in avoiding them. In the season 3 finale, an abrupt and inexplicable change to Cal’s age resulted in him being unidentifiable as a passenger. The main characters provided him with a new identity as Gabriel Stone to conceal this discrepancy. Consequently, Cal may be able to evade the Registry’s pursuit more effortlessly than Ben, Michaela, TJ, and Adrian can in the upcoming season of Manifest. Since Cal’s recorded age is five years younger than his current age, the Registry will have no reason to connect the two identities.
If Cal’s age is why he can outsmart the Registry while others are imprisoned or fleeing, it could explain why the divine consciousness increased his biological age by five. As an all-knowing entity, the divine consciousness was likely aware of all the challenges the passengers would encounter, including the obstacles posed by the Registry. If the Registry detains all passengers, it would be impossible to prevent the 2024 apocalypse.
Stopping the apocalypse depends on Cal
If the divine consciousness is inclined to safeguard a passenger, it would be fitting for that passenger to be Cal, given his exceptional status among the group. The passengers have recognized Cal’s significance since season 1, and recent revelations by TJ and Olive have reinforced his importance in the upcoming events of Manifest. According to their interpretation of the Egyptian papyrus, Cal’s position as the Dragon places him in a unique position to rescue the Lifeboat. Given his extraordinary abilities, his capture may be the catalyst for an apocalyptic catastrophe.
