Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania continues to build momentum as the smallest Avenger faces off against the biggest and most menacing villain the MCU has ever seen. The film delivers the Quantum Realm spectacle that Marvel fans crave while maintaining a focus on the familial dynamic between Lang and Van Dyne.

The film successfully introduces Kang the Conqueror while giving Scott Lang a prominent role. In addition to Jonathan Majors’ Kang, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania debuts Kathryn Newton as adult Cassie Lang and brings back Corey Stoll as MODOK (Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing). Despite being kept secret until the film’s release, the studio has now released a new character poster featuring MODOK, who is depicted with his distinctive large head, tiny legs, and hands, set against a backdrop of the Quantum Realm.

How the MCU restored the reputation of Darren Cross?

The new feature unexpectedly casts Darren Cross a.k.a Yellowjacket (also played by Stoll) as a hero, redeeming the character from his villainous role in the first Ant-Man movie. Fans were thrilled to see Stoll back as another antagonist. In the previous film, he threatened Cassie and was subsequently trapped in the Quantum Realm, but in Quantumania, Cassie becomes his path to redemption. When MODOK pursues Cassie to kill her, she confronts him and implores him to “stop being a d–k,” which leads to his change of heart. In a recent interview with Collider, Stoll shared,

There’s something sort of disarming about Cassie because Cassie, more than anybody, has the right to really hate him and to want to just seek revenge, and the fact that she doesn’t, the fact that she holds her punch, and the fact that he still thinks of her as this little girl, I think it sort of wakes him out of his slumber because that was definitely — he was about to commit his greatest crime when he was threatening to kill her at the end of the first movie and so I think she was the one to snap him out a little.

The recently released film features MODOK’s impressive character arc, bringing his story full circle in the MCU. Meanwhile, Cassie’s portrayal as a superhero is notable as she tries to bring out the best in MODOK instead of hating him, which deeply moves the character. Thus, it is great to see the character being celebrated through this new and vibrant poster.
