One of the pictures from this year’s Grammys that broke the internet was Latto and Taylor Swift’s selfie. The Rapper shared the conversation she had with the pop superstar in a recent interview.
“It was so cool!” Latto said about the interaction. “She was like, ‘I didn’t even win Best New Artist either,’ and I was like, ‘Girl, what?!’ And she was like, ‘Nah, I didn’t win,’ and she was just telling me, ‘It’s not the end all, be all,’ and to keep my head up. Then I was like, ‘Can I get a selfie?’ And she was like ‘Of course!’ She told me she liked ‘Big Energy,’ and that she loves everything I’m doing. It’s just so crazy because you think those people are so huge and that she wouldn’t know who I am, but here she is telling me about my songs and how she’s a fan. I’m like, what?!”
The rapper is set to receive Billboard Powerhouse Award at this year’s Billboard Women in Music Awards, that is set to take place next month. When the star was asked about what exactly does being a powerhouse mean to her, she replied, “For me, it’s just being a boss. And not putting limits on yourself and thinking outside the box, taking things head-on and just running. That’s how I interpret the Powerhouse Award. It’s like, she’s more than an artist—she’s unstoppable, coming full-force, full-fledged. Not letting up.”
Latto talks about dealing with trollers
The star also talked about taking humorous approach to deal with haters. “You can’t get too caught up in the internet. Real life and the internet are two different things, and a lot of the stuff that people might think gets to you, or their weak-ass attempts at stopping your shit, is a joke. Just laugh it away, because this shit is funny. Life is good, we are not worried about the internet,” she said. “Like, they really said I’m not allowed to wear panties twice? That’s crazy. So, I just made it all a damn joke. Like, if y’all are gonna troll me, I’m gonna troll y’all asses right back,” she added.
