Actress Ana de Armas who’s lately been busy shooting for the John Wick’s spinoff, ‘Ballerina’ recently told to ‘Vanity Fair’ that her action roles are coming to a full stop with this revenge thriller.
The star also added that she’s focussing more on drama-oriented roles lately.
“After Bond, there was kind of a wave of all these action roles, and that was fun. I chose from the ones that I thought were more exciting or with people I wanted to work with. I feel like Ballerina is going to be the end of that, at least for now, because I’m craving a wave of Blonde-type films. I want to do work with directors and do character work. I have had the opportunity to meet directors that I want to work with. The people that I’m getting access to is changing, and that makes me very excited.” The actress said.

The star also talked about bringing Marilyn Monroe to life in the recently released hit “Blonde.”
“It was important to find the emotional truth in this character. One of the biggest themes in this movie is the private and public self. Norma Jeane was completely unseen. I wanted to capture the essence of that woman, to find the human underneath. It was a long process studying her and her films, to understand what she was feeling at all times, always thinking that Norma for the most part never thought she could live up to Marilyn. What people thought of her was not at all what she felt like,” she said.
Ana de Armas further revealed that she’s become ‘more protective’ of her since starring in the biopic. “The sad part for me – and the most challenging – is to see not only what happened in the ’40s and ’50s and ’60s but to see patterns continue to happen. It’s definitely made me more protective of myself and set boundaries and know my limits for how much I’m willing to give – and how much I want to keep to myself. But at the same time, it clearly is a place where incredible opportunities happen. I’m very grateful to be working in the industry,” she added.
