Actor Penn Badgley called out Netflix for making Jeffrey Dahmer’s character, one of the fan favourites.

The star is currently busy promoting the fourth season of Netflix’s blockbuster show “You,” in which he plays stalker and serial killer Joe Goldberg.

Penn was asked about the message he’d like to send to the fans who are finding themselves attracted to serial killers, in a recent interview. He replied, “You need to look at that, inside. Now, to be fair, with our show, you’re meant to fall in love with him. That’s on us. Ted Bundy? That’s on you! Jeffrey Dahmer, that is on- that is on Netflix. That is squarely on the shoulders of Netflix.”

Badgley further added, “I don’t have answers at this point. I do, but they’re long. Yeah, it’s weird man.”

Penn Badgley no longer interested in doing sex scenes

Penn Badgley recently admitted asking ‘You’ writers to reduce the number of intimate scenes for Joe.

The star revealed, “I asked Sera Gamble can I just do no more intimate scenes. This is actually a decision I made before I took the show. I don’t think I have ever mentioned it publicly. One of the main things was, do I want to put myself back on a career path where I’m always playing the romantic lead?”

Badgley also added, “Fidelity in every relationship, including my marriage, is important to me. It’s got to the point where I don’t want to do that. So, I said to Sera, ‘my desire would be zero, to go from 100 to zero.’ But I signed this contract. I signed up for this show. I know what I did. You can’t take this aspect out of the DNA of the concept. So how much less can you make it, was my question to them. She didn’t even bat an eye. She was really glad that I was that honest. She was sort of almost, I want to say empowered, it had a really positive response. They came back with a phenomenal reduction,”

‘You’ is now available to stream on Netflix.
