Canadian rapper Drake is facing a deposition in connection with American rapper XXXTentacion murder trail that’s currently happening.

The rapper is being summoned to the court due to his fued with the late American. XXXTentacion was killed by a gunshot in June 2018 during a robbery. Attorney Mauricio Padilla expressed beliefs that the ‘Hotline Bling’ singer is somehow involved in the murder and inorder to strengthen his claim, he tried to summon the singer last month. But according to the Billboard reports, Drake didn’t attend for the deposition, which he was supposed to attend in the last week of January and is now getting another chance to sit for the deposition, scheduled on February 24. The Canadian may be held in contempt if he refuses to attend again.

The court order reads, “If deponent Aubrey Drake Graham does not appear to deposition he must appear before this court on Monday Feb. 27, 2023 at 10 a.m. EST at so [sic] the court can determine why he should not be held in contempt.”

Drake and XXXTentacion feud

The feud between Drake and XXXTentacion started back in 2017, when the latter alleged that the former had stolen flows from his song, ‘Look At Me’ and used it on his track ‘KMT.’ Exactly after a year, XXXTentacion posted an Instagram story that read, “If anyone tries to kill me it was @champagnepapi,” tagging Drake’s Instagram handle.

The rapper later deleted the story and claimed that his account was hacked. Four months later, XXXTentacion was shot dead in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

The major suspects of the case, Michael Boatwright (28), Trayvon Newsome (24), and Dedrick Williams (26) are now on trail. They would reportedly be facing lifetime imprisonment, if proven guilty.

Although Drake received orders to sit for a deposition, there is no strong evidence suggesting the rapper’s involvement in the murder.
