Harry Styles Wins His First ‘Album of the Year,’ Lizzo Pays Tribute to Beyonce

Pop singer Harry Styles has won his first ever ‘Album of the Year’ at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday for his album ‘Harry’s House.’

The singer also bagged win in the Best Pop Vocal Album category for the same album.

Harry’s House, consisting of 13 tracks was dropped on May 20, last year. The album topped charts across many countries, hit #1 on both Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100 and was praised by the critics.

The singer spoke after winning the best pop vocal album, “Thank you so much. This album, from start to finish, has been the greatest experience of my life. For making it with two of my best friends, to playing it for people has been the greatest joy I could have asked for. So, I want to thank Rob, Jeffrey, Tommy, Tom, Tom, Tyler and everyone who inspired this album, everyone, all my friends who supported me through it. Thank you so much. I wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you so much.”

Harry is now a three time grammy winner as the former One Direction star previously won a grammy at the 63rd edition in the best pop solo performance category for his song ‘Watermelon Sugar.’

Lizzo bagged win in the record of the year category for her song ‘About Damn Time’, which she also performed earlier on stage. The win marks the singer’s first, in a Big Four category.

The singer paid tribute to Beyonce during her acceptance speech. She said, “In the fifth grade I skipped school to see you perform. My sister, she got me out of school. It was literature. I’m good,” Looking at Beyonce, she continued, “You changed my life. You sang that gospel medley. And the way you made me feel, I was like, I want to make people feel this way with my music. So thank you so much. You clearly are the artist of our lives!”
