New photos from Keanu Reeves’ upcoming action movie John Wick: Chapter 4 focus on the film’s enigmatic new characters. The impending fourth episode of the John Wick series, to be directed by seasoned franchise director Chad Stahelski, will see Keanu Reeves’ titular assassin return with a vengeance following the spectacular events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. In the movie, Wick will discover a way to topple the High Table, which puts him in conflict with a formidable new foe and a few familiar faces. Along with Reeves, a slew of new characters are introduced in the movie, which also stars Ian McShane as Winston and Lance Reddick as Charon.
The actors Bill Skarsgrd, Shamier Anderson, Rina Sawayama, and Hiroyuki Sanada, as well as others, play some of the sequel’s new characters in a few fresh pictures from John Wick: Chapter 4. The pictures also give us new looks at Reeves, McShane, and Laurence Fishburne as the Bowery King in addition to showcasing Wick’s new possible allies and adversaries. View the fresh picture below:
In addition to welcoming back a number of well-known characters, John Wick: Chapter 4 appears to be significantly expanding the world of the game by introducing a large number of new characters.
Donnie Yen’s Caine isn’t depicted in the new photos, but solely based on the John Wick: Chapter 4 teaser, which features the two characters engaging in a sword-and-pistol combat, it appears like Caine will pose a big threat to Wick. The new character played by Yen appears to be closely related to Skarsgrd’s Marquis, who acts as the primary villain of the sequel and a key member of the High Table who seeks to remove Wick.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is also featured in Sawayama and Sanada as Akira and Shimazu, respectively. Akira is still highly mysterious, although the movie’s teaser does show her killing foes with a bow and arrow, a franchise first. Shimazu appears in the trailer for a brief moment while brandishing a sword, and Sanada’s words seem to indicate that his character might really be one of Wick’s few allies in the movie. However, Anderson’s Tracker, who is pictured above with a dog, was not depicted in the video. This character is almost entirely unknown at this point, thus he can turn out to be either a friend or an opponent.
