Music’s most celebrated awards, the ‘Grammys’ are almost here. Here’s everything you have to know about the performers at this year’s event.

The first round of performers was announced by the recording academy almost a week ago. That list includes star singers and nominees Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy, Lizzo, Kim Petras and Sam Smith. The recording academy has announced on 31st Jan that this year’s Grammy-winner Questlove is curating the Hip Hop 50 tribute performance which will feature a bunch of artists that’ll be announced soon. This performance is set up by the Paramount Global in partnership with Mass Appeal to honour the 50th anniversary of hip hop.

Bad Bunny, Lizzo, Carlie and Blige all will be competing for the coveted Album of the Year alongside ABBA, Adele, Beyonce, Coldplay and Kendrick Lamar. The winner in this category in the previous edition was Jon Batiste.

Kim Petras is one of the first time nominees at this year’s show, as she was nominated for the song ‘Unholy’ along with her collaborator, 4-time Grammy winner Sam Smith. The duo is all set to perform their global smash hit on the stage.

Earlier in a big news, pop star Harry Styles was also confirmed to be performing for the big night. His song ‘As It Was’ and album ‘Harry’s House’ are nominated in all the major categories.

Three-time Grammy winner Lizzo will also be setting the stage on fire, this year. Apart from Album of the Year, the singer is also up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Trevor Noah returns to host this year’s event. This will mark his third consecutive year as the host.

Is Beyonce going to make history again?

Beyonce is now tied with her husband Jay-Z for most Grammy nominations in history after scoring a whopping nine nods for her latest album Renaissance. In 2022, She scored her 28th win at the Grammys, making her the female musician with most wins ever. She is now tied with Quincy and only behind Georg Solti, who holds 31 wins.

Beyonce could make history if she wins 4 out of the 9 nods she’s got. Earlier, it was reported that she’s in talks to perform at this year’s event.

65th Annual Grammy Awards commence this Sunday, February 5.
