Lady Gaga took to Instagram to post a new selfie to thank the Academy for her Oscar nomination alongside revealing that she’s in the sets working for her upcoming film.
Oscar winning singer joined the DC Universe last year to star in the musical psychological thriller, ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’, an apparent sequel to the 2019 movie which was a massive success and earned 11 Oscar nominations and went on to win 2. The shooting for the film originally started last December. Now with this post, it is confirmed that Gaga too joined the sets.
Take a look at what Gaga posted:
She wrote, “Thank you so much to the Academy for nominating my song ‘Hold My Hand’ for an Oscar this year! Writing this song for the film Top Gun: Maverick was a deep and powerful experience that I will never forget. So grateful for the magic of music and cinema. Love you my co-writer bloodpop.”
She further added, “I’m on set filming now big love to little monsters!”
More about Joker 2
‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ is being directed and co-written by Phillips. The movie apparently is about the love track between Arthur Fleck, played by Joaquin Phoenix and Harley Quinn, played by Lady Gaga. Other stars who are set to feature in the film, include Zazie Beetz, Brendon Gleeson, Catherine Keener and more.
Beetz earlier talked about the film. “I wasn’t really surprised by that Todd has always had a creative approach to the character. I love musicals, and I think of them as the characters are feeling and experiencing so much that they can only sing and dance about it, whether in sorrow or in joy. And I can actually see that within myself as well, because singing and dancing is quite a cathartic experience for me. I was going through a really, really difficult time at one point in my life, and I just started dancing and crying by myself. And that was an expression that matched where I was at that moment. And so, I can see Arthur, who is feeling and experiencing so much, dancing and singing about it. He’s the Joker, so I think it makes sense to me.”, He said.
The movie is set to mark yet another milestone in Lady Gaga’s career as an actor and also as a musician. Joker 2 is set to hit theaters worldwide on October 4, 2024.
