Agatha: Coven of Chaos, a WandaVision spinoff series, gets a start date for production as well as three directors. As Phase 5 begins with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania next month, other Marvel Cinematic Universe productions are getting ready to start filming. One of the most eagerly awaited films is Agatha: Coven of Chaos, in which Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role as the beloved MCU antagonist from WandaVision. Her standalone programme will carry on her adventures in the MCU and is a direct offshoot of WandaVision. The dark Disney+ comedy Agatha: Coven of Chaos, starring WandaVision chief writer Jac Schaeffer, is scheduled to debut in late 2023.

It seems like Agatha: Coven of Chaos is now prepared to start filming. The Hahn-starring sitcom will reportedly begin filming in Atlanta on January 17th, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The MCU film Agatha: Coven of Chaos will join a number of other MCU movies that have already shot in Atlanta. Since Schaeffer will be directing several episodes of the Phase 5 series, the trade also announced that she would have another duty. A Friend of the Family’s Rachel Goldberg and Wednesday’s Gandja Monteiro are also listed as directors, though it’s unclear which episodes the three will work on since Agatha: Coven of Chaos was picked up for nine episodes.

Despite the lack of information regarding the plot, it is anticipated that Hahn’s role would continue after the events of WandaVision in Agatha: Coven of Chaos. The Scarlet Witch imprisoned the witch in her Westview identity, “Agnes,” in the WandaVision finale, which was the last time viewers saw Agatha. It’s definitely safe to assume that the series will focus on Agatha’s likely escape from her “prison” and return to her original personality. Once filming starts, the overall plot of Agatha: Coven of Chaos should become more evident.

For unidentified parts, Joe Locke, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, and Okwui Okpokwasili have all been cast. Uncertainty surrounds the possibility that Locke is portraying a younger iteration of Billy Maximoff, also known as Wiccan. With Agatha: Coven of Chaos, the MCU has another opportunity to draw on the supernatural and magical elements of the series. The MCU’s treatment of Agatha after her standalone series will be more interesting to see. It will be fascinating to watch what further details regarding the Phase 5 series become public while production on Agatha: Coven of Chaos is just days away.
