Much Nothing will premiere on February 3, 2023, in cinemas and on video on demand, and RLJE Films has already produced the official teaser. The project is executive produced by two-time Emmy and Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo. The new trailer depicts a sophisticated movie that explores the best and worst of mankind as actor Mo McRae (The Flight Attendant, Sons of Anarchy) makes his directorial debut (The Water Man).

James and Noel, played by Y’Ian Noel (Insecure) and Cleopatra Coleman (The Last Man on Earth), are a happy couple living in Los Angeles who have their life turned upside down when they find that their neighbor Brian (Justin Hartley) engaged in a police shooting after they saw it on the TV. As the pair attempts to “do something” about it, what happens is a “very explosive trip.” In the end, Noel kidnaps Brian and holds him captive inside their home, setting off a night that showcases both the good and the worst in human nature.

The kidnapping is depicted in the trailer for the upcoming movie, along with the arrival for dinner of the couple’s friends Lex Scott Davis (Rebel) and Shamier Anderson (Invasion). When the truth is revealed and all of their divergent approaches to solving the problem are displayed, the group becomes at odds. According to the movie’s official synopsis, the film will examine how “our experiences with race, class, family, fear, love, and happiness impact our decisions today.”

In addition to Sarah Kelly Kaplan, McRae is the author of A Lot of Nothing (Perry Mason). Alongside Next Day Air’s Inny Clemons, Deadtectives’ Jason Tamasco, Venus as a Boy’s DeAnna Gravillis, and Zak Kristofek, McRae also acts as a producer (Red Right Hand). Oyelowo is joined by Nina Soriano and Kim Hodgert (Boy Erased) as executive producers (Bonding). Scalable Content, Secret Society Films, Traction, and Anonymous Content are the producers of the movie.
