Jenna Davis, a voice actor for M3GAN, discusses a potential sequel comeback in the horrifying killer doll role. The newest horror film from Blumhouse Productions, written by Akela Cooper, is outpacing Smile, the highest-grossing thriller of 2022, at the box office. M3GAN, starring Allison Williams, follows young scientist Gemma as she adopts Cady, her eight-year-old orphan niece (Violet McGraw). Gemma gives Cady an artificial intelligence doll named M3GAN because she wants to give her comfort and security, but her intentions are quickly thwarted when M3GAN proves to be a homicidal, obsessive villain who kills anyone or anything that stands in her way. Long before the movie’s release, rumours of a potential sequel circulated. It was hailed as an instant cult classic.

M3GAN voice actress Jenna Davis discusses a potential return to the terrifying character in a follow-up interview with NYLON. Davis gives a positive response when asked if she wants to be involved with the doll’s filmography, adding it would be a dream come true. She said, “That would be a dream come true. Would I do seven M3GAN movies? Heck yeah, I would. I think she has a lot in her. She can go places, for sure. So if they want to make it, I’m down for it.”

Davis shares the opinions of other artists who contributed to the success of M3GAN in terms of the movie’s potential. Producer James Wan has been open about his goals for M3GAN’s future and has directed a number of Blumhouse hits, including Saw, Insidious, and The Conjuring. He discussed a potential sequel months before the movie’s premiere and revealed he has ambitions for the M3GAN universe. Gerard Johnstone, the director, has also hinted at a crossover with Annabelle, the doll that Blumhouse competes with. Wan and Johnstone made it plain that M3GAN’s future would rely on how well the film does at the box office even though they were unable to divulge specifics of their plans. Fortunately, it has performed better than anticipated.

Don Mancini, the creator of Chucky, also endorsed the idea of an interconnected multiverse

Not only have the creators of M3GAN given the franchise hope for the future, but Chucky creator Don Mancini has also expressed his support for a hypothetical interconnected multiverse. Mancini revealed in November that he was discussing plans with Universal for a Chucky crossover series. Although he admitted he had not yet seen the movie, he specifically referenced M3GAN and said it sounded like a lot of fun. But in order to show his support for the new villain, M3GAN, he welcomed her to the deadly dollhouse via Instagram. Even if it’s a humorous piece, it might start a discussion regarding an M3GAN vs. Chucky crossover event, which viewers have already requested.
