The Gossip Girl reboot struggled for a long to create its own protagonist-driven conflict, but following episode 7 of season 2 in 2021, it could have discovered the ideal rivalry. The Gossip Girl reboot hadn’t yet found the ideal pair of foes who could sincerely care for each other and just as easily stab each other in the back. The original Gossip Girl was known for its numerous outrageous showdowns, with Blair and Serena’s rifts frequently causing more trouble than others. Season 1 of the Gossip Girl revival attempted to pit Julien (Jordan Alexander) and Zoya against one another, but their altercations always ended abruptly.

Then, in Gossip Girl season 2 in 2021, Monet rose up Constance Billard’s ranks, endangering Julien if she had intended to genuinely confront Monet. The conflict between Monet and Julien gradually died down, leaving them with distinct but nonetheless compatible ambitions, much as Julien’s battle with Zoya. All of these possible assaults on Julien and threats to her safety were not only brief, but Julien didn’t want to fight. With Julien and Audrey’s (Emily Alyn Lind) feud, it may possible that they become equally committed in the arguments and in defending their viewpoints, as Blair and Serena were in the original Gossip Girl.

The Gossip Girl Reboot Finally Has Its Blair & Serena Fall Out 2

The friendship between Julien and Audrey appeared to be one of the only constant connections in Julien’s life during the first and second seasons of the Gossip Girl remake, but Julien’s actions during Audrey’s father’s visit and her subsequent mistakes further irritated Audrey. In the first season of the Gossip Girl revival, Julien didn’t treat her pals as equals, and when she admitted that she had planted false rumours on Gossip Girl to make everyone accountable, Audrey became even more incensed. The final straw for Audrey was Julien’s attempt to address a problem by intentionally ruining it by interfering with Kiki’s line launch.

In the Gossip Girl season 2 episode 7 from 2021, Audrey happily parted ways with Julien, although the main source of Julien’s sadness remained her best friend’s impression of her. It’s unknown when Julien will respond, but if she does, her conflict with Audrey would stand in for Blair and Serena’s in the Gossip Girl reboot. After all, Audrey’s observations revealed her dislike for Julien’s tendency to solely consider what would benefit her circumstances and to ignore how her actions would hurt her friends, something that Blair frequently reprimanded Serena for. Their closeness from before and Audrey’s repressed emotions toward Julien may cause their conflict to rival Blair and Serena’s in intensity.

The confrontation between Audrey and Julien in the second season of the Gossip Girl reboot resembles the Blair and Serena plot from episode 6 of the second season of the show. In fact, Serena’s suggestion to just cut off her friendship with Blair at Yale, after they had resorted to fighting physically to settle their differences, was reminiscent of Audrey’s choice to put a stop to Julien’s pranks. Blair did not want Serena to be removed from her life, even if she believed that Serena’s travel to Yale was a betrayal of her goals. In the Gossip Girl revival, let’s hope that Audrey and Julien’s fight will eventually bring the two friends closer and give them new perspective on one another.
