In real life, Wednesday star Emma Myers sounds more like Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams than she does as Enid. At Nevermore Academy, Myers plays Wednesday’s cheery roommate. The two were initially adversaries and diametrically opposed before becoming good friends. Although Myers had a few appearances as a child actor in the past, Netflix’s Wednesday represented a breakthrough for her career. Myers’ character has become quite popular thanks to her endearing relationship with her roommate.

Myers discusses her training for the part of Enid, which included a weird werewolf boot camp that other Wednesday actresses also attended, during a visit on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. When questioned about whether she sought the Wednesday aspect at first, Myers quickly dismisses the idea, claiming that Enid was much simpler to access and that “Wednesday does not come easily to me.” She says that she shares Wednesday’s personality traits in addition to being positive and optimistic like Enid. View the actor’s comments below:

“I’m not a good Wednesday…Wednesday does not come naturally to me, Enid does. And I think Jenna did such a flawless job with Wednesday that if I even tried, it would be a disgrace. I’m an optimist. I think that’s one of the only things I have in common with Enid, that I’m an optimist. I don’t like wearing colorful clothes, I don’t – I’m not an extrovert. I’m an introvert.”

What changes can we expect for Enid in the second season of Wednesday?

For her portrayal of Wednesday, Ortega has received accolades from both reviewers and viewers, and Myers has now been added to the list as a result of her kind words of appreciation for her co-star. Myers appears to have nothing in common with Wednesday’s Enid, who likes bright pastel hues and is quite sociable, contrasted to her on-screen counterpart. Her different nature makes her friendship with Wednesday so amusing to observe because both ladies are adamant about who they are and don’t back down from a fight when pushed to get along.

Enid and Wednesday eventually discovered that they have more in common than they initially believed, as both teenagers developed during the course of the season, unlocked a new, supernatural aspect of themselves, and were able to connect with one another. In addition, Wednesday discovered the advantages of having trustworthy friends, while Enid gained a little bit more bite, demonstrating how the roommates were able to grow more similar over time. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the show’s writers, have hinted that the connections of the title heroine with both her eccentric, adored family and her fellow pupils will be addressed in greater detail in the recently scheduled Wednesday season 2.

In the second season of Wednesday, Enid and Wednesday’s roles may be reversed, with Enid becoming darker and Wednesday trying to reconnect with her. Alternatively, Enid may learn more about her werewolf powers while Wednesday becomes isolated. Their friendship may also be tested by external factors, such as Wednesday’s stalker. Many viewers hope to see a romantic relationship between Enid and Wednesday, which could bring about further changes for both characters. Regardless of the direction the show takes, Enid is expected to remain a fan favorite, thanks to Myers’ acting abilities.
